does dish network and directtv use the same sateites? Can I switch from dish to direct & keep my current dish

I have dish network all set up at home but feel direct tv has better deals - can i switch and use the current dish that I have on my roof? Or do I need a new dish?

No, no and no - different satellites, dishes, and locations/direction. Dish is also behind Directv on the number of HD channels available - they've had satellite problems and are still trying to get another HD satellite in the right orbit to catch up to direct. Anyway - if you switch then Directv will do the installation for free so they'll put up a new dish (you can remove the other one). I'd suggest going with the HD dish, which is different, so you don't need to pay when you decide to upgrade later.

dish network constomer service isent really all that good. But I signed up for dish network today. I signed up for the 19.99 family package & there charging extra 5 doller more. & no matter what u do u have to sign a 16 month contract no matter what, even if u own your own satlite set ,u still have to sign a contract. if u end your contract earlier its 13 doller a month depending on how many monthes u have left so if u have a year left 13 times 12 monthes = 156.00. Im calling them up to marro & hurrying and cancel before they come out to my house to install it. I changed my mind. when I was on the phone with them I called the lady Bi*tch & hung up on here. but who knows it might be a better deal for u. regular tv is cheaper or is about the same u might save about 15 dollers .if u have lots of mountains fog clouds rain & cliffs around u it will go out. I live in foggy place where it gose out a lot my nabor said. it was bad. At&t has a contract dish network , u get treated like at&T

Are the serving sizes for uncooked pasta for a main dish or side dish?

In traditional Italian cooking, pasta is often a side dish, but when I make it, I usually make it as main dish (the whole meal is pasta), so do the serving sizes on the containers imply it is a side dish or a main dish? Because they seem sort of small for a main dish.

MAIN DISH!
It's based on calories and carbs….if you like a lot of pasta, make it all. If you don't, then make it as indicated. Personally, I cook up the whole box and only use what I want for that night's dinner, and then there's always more sauce leftover than noodles, so I have extra, etc.

Where can I find a dish drainer 11×15?

Where can I find a dish drainer 11 inches x15inches ? Preferably one that drains in one corner. My tiny apartment kitchen doesn't have much space for a dish drainer. Does anyone know where I could find a drainer this size or smaller or do you have any alternative suggestions for easy ways to dry dishes?

Try Bed Bath and Beyond. I've seen quite a range of sizes there.

I have seen a lot of talk on the subject of satellite TV on PC software. It seems too good to be true. Is this a scam? I Cable currently and I pay almost $120 per month for just like 900 channels and what not. Most of which I never watch. I have asked some of my friends and they have different opinions on this all togther about Satellite TV on PC software.I am wondering about how good is the quality of picture? How many channels do you get? Will it work on Old TV's?Which company do you use if any? Thanks for your help.

I use satellite tv to pc. With this I get unlimited download access to music & movies.

I have a question about Satellite TV or whatever its called?

Well whenever my family buys a house (they are planning to anyway) my mom would like to purchase Satellite TV or whatever you call it the dish that goes up on your roof with MTV etc…well if we get the service from Qwest or DishNetwork or DirecTV and then we purchase a seperate dish with some other channel service well my mom's friend had a dish with the words "DirecTV world" and she has Filipino channel. I was wondering if you buy the regular dish package then we decided to purchase that same channel too (Filipino channel, but I forgot what its called, T??) would it also cost for that service or would it be included with the other Cartoon Network, etc dish would we have to pay like 19.99 or 29.99 for that channel too? Just wondering because we haven't had dishes like that before so we dont have experience with it.

Also if we bundle with Qwest (MN) with the TV, phone, and Internet would it be cheaper or more expensive? It is ninety nine dollars from what i hear.

Qwest offers to bundle services with DirecTV. I'm not really sure, though, how much you save.

As for the programming, you're asking about the Filipino Direct package. You would have to pay for a regular set of channels (called a base package) and then also pay for the Filipino channels. The cost varies depending on what channels you get.

DirecTV.com gives you a pretty good estimate of how much services would be before you purchase them.

Another good idea for you is since you know someone who already HAS DirecTV you can take advantage of the "spread the word" offer. Your parents would have to call a specific number in order to get this deal (any other number nulls the offer), but I can't remember what it is. If they call 1-800-531-5000 and ask for the offer specifically, the CSR they talk to can give them all the information =)

What do I do with my dish when I disconnect from Dish Network?

May 12th, 2009

I currently subscribe to the Dish Network, but was wondering what I do with the dish/satellite if I decide to disconnect. I don't want to leave a gray dish hanging on the side of the house if I'm not using it. Does Dish Network send someone over to take it down, or do I do that myself? I understand that I have to return the remotes and receiver, but I can't find any information on what to do with the dish.

Depending on the details of your contract, you should always be required to send back the remotes and receiver.

However, about the big gray dish… they may ask you to go and remove the receiver part and include this in the box. Not the big actual dish… but the little part that points into the dish. (I think it is just held on with 4 tiny bolts that can be removed with a socket wrench).

This is what they had me do anyways.

The dish itself they don’t care about and you will have to take it down yourself.
